The NAR settlement rules are now in effect. When representing buyers and sellers, you need to be familiar with best practices for describing seller concessions as well as executing buyer-broker agreements. The Silicon Valley Association of REALTORS (SILVAR) announced today PRDS updated contracts and forms that comply with the new National Association of REALTORS® anti-trust settlement guidelines for Buyer and Seller Representations will be published and available on all electronic platforms for REALTORS on August 12.
This month marks the release of the PRDS Listing Agreement Amendment ("LAA"). This form will allow the seller and seller's broker to amend the listing agreement regarding not only price and terms but also compensation issues. The need for the latter might arise if a seller initially decides to not offer compensation to a buyer's broker but then wants to do so.
